A Typography Exercise

the greatest of these is love

Just a little typography exercise for fun!

New Resume Design

After about 4 years, I figured it was high time for an updated resume design. My last design was based on a Liquid Light print I had created while in school and was too soft. This new one has graphics that were designed with Illustrator CS5′s new 3D filters and some advanced Photoshop CS5 lighting techniques.

I’m not going to go into too many details here, but I wanted to provide a quick download link here.

Freshly Vectored

Just a little design exercise..

1 – Go to “wikipedia.” Hit “random”
or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 – Go to “Random quotations”
or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 – Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 – Use photoshop or similar to put it all together.

5 – Post it with this text in the “caption” and TAG the friends you want to join in (edit: really, anybody feel free to join in!).

I pulled this from a fellow ASU graduate’s Facebook and after a few weeks, finally had some spare time to do this little exercise. What’s good is it can be a short or a rather long project deciding how much effort you decide to put into it. Plus the potential for creative typography is the real kicker… anyways this is what I came up with:

Design exercise

Seek simplicity & distrust it.
